The Core Rules
Cricket Heroes works like most video slots. Before each spin you set a bet amount. You tap spin, the reels stop, and the game checks every active payline. A line pays when matching symbols land on it in a row, starting from the leftmost reel. Three bats starting on reel one pays. Three bats starting on reel two does not.
That left-to-right rule catches out almost every new player. You'll see a row of matching symbols sitting in the middle of the screen, feel a flash of excitement, and get nothing. It's not a glitch. The line didn't start on reel one.
Each spin is decided by a random number generator. The result is set the instant you tap, and it has no link to the spin before it or the spin after.
One more thing about lines. A single spin can pay on more than one line at the same time. If two different paylines both start with matching symbols on reel one, you're paid for both, and the win total at the bottom of the screen adds them up. That's why a spin sometimes pays more than any single symbol in the paytable would suggest.
Symbols and What They're Worth
The reels are filled with cricket-stadium symbols. They fall roughly into three groups:
| Group | Examples | How they behave |
|---|---|---|
| Everyday symbols | Lower-value cricket icons like the ball | Land often, pay small amounts |
| Premium symbols | The cricket bat, batting helmet, stadium scoreboard | Land less often, pay more |
| Wild | The game's special substitute symbol | Stands in for regular symbols to finish a line |
| Scatter | The trophy | Pays from anywhere, and enough of them start the free spins |
The Wild won't replace the Scatter. It only fills gaps between regular symbols. So two helmets plus a Wild on reels one to three counts as three helmets.
Reading the Paytable
Open the paytable before your first spin. It's usually behind an "i" or menu button. Spend two minutes here, it's worth it.
- Find the premium symbol at the top. Note what three, four and five of it pay at your current stake.
- Look at the everyday symbols near the bottom. The numbers will be smaller. These are your frequent small wins.
- Check how many trophies you need to trigger Six! Free Spins.
- Change your stake and look again. The values move with it, which shows you exactly how much more you're risking per spin.
Most people skip this step. Then twenty spins in, they can't tell whether a win was decent or tiny. Knowing the table stops that confusion.
How Six! Free Spins Works
When enough trophy Scatters land anywhere on the reels, the Six! Free Spins round begins. You get a set of spins that don't cost you anything. During this round, big-hit symbols can carry win multipliers, which is why the largest payouts in the game tend to come from here.
When the free spins end, the total is added to your balance and the game goes back to normal paid spins. There's nothing to decide during the bonus. Just watch it play out.
A Sample Session
Here's what a sensible first session could look like. The amounts are examples only.
You start with ₹150 set aside and decide on ₹5 a spin. That's thirty spins. You also decide you'll stop if the balance reaches ₹250.
The first eight spins return nothing. Spin nine gives three balls on a line, a small win, maybe a few rupees. Spins ten to fifteen, a couple more small wins. Then a line with two bats and a Wild on reels one to three pays a bit more. By spin twenty-five you're at ₹110. No free spins yet.
Spin twenty-seven lands three trophies and the Six! Free Spins round starts. It pays a few decent lines and brings you back to ₹160. You play the last three spins, finish at ₹150-something, and close the game. Nothing dramatic. That's how most real sessions look, and it's a good one.
Terms You'll Meet
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Payline | A path across the reels that the game checks for matching symbols. |
| Bet / stake | What each spin costs you. |
| Coin value | The unit your total bet is built from, where the game shows it. |
| Autoplay | Runs a number of spins in a row without tapping each time. |
| Multiplier | Raises the value of a win, mainly during free spins. |
| RNG | Random number generator, the system that decides each spin. |
Mistakes and a Beginner Routine
The big mistakes with Cricket Heroes are all about money, not rules.
- Betting the maximum before you've read the paytable.
- Pushing the stake up after a dry run.
- Leaving autoplay on and not watching the balance.
- Spinning past the loss limit "just until the free spins come".
For your first few sessions, try this routine. Use the welcome bonus or a small amount like ₹100. Pick the lowest stake. Play a fixed number of spins, say thirty, and stop there whatever happens. If you use autoplay, set it for ten spins at a time so you're forced to look up. After three or four sessions you'll understand how often the game pays and whether you enjoy it. The general slots guide covers the same ideas across other reel games.
